Update on Software Freedom Day 2011 for Kitchener/Waterloo

Software Freedom Day 2011 Kitchener/Waterloo

Software Freedom Day 2011 Kitchener/Waterloo

We now have 2 confirmed speakers for Software Freedom Day, 2011, which takes place between 10am and 4pm stretched between a couple of buildings at The Working Centre. I am really stoked because Raul Suarez is always an amazing presenter and the presentations he did in 2009 for Software Freedom Day were not only universal, but darn convincing. Stefan Chirila has joined us as a new speaker for 2011. I’m really excited to have Stefan on board because he’s not only a staunch free software advocate, but an amazing photographer.

We’re still looking for other presenters. I’ve contacted a few more people and Paul,  our co-coordinator for 2011 has contacted a few more people, but we still have a few slots open for free software-related presentations (we’re talking software freedom, not banner-ware). We’re also looking for people to help out with the Install-fest and to get word around about the event. Posters will be available soon on the TWC Kitchener/Waterloo SFD 2011 wiki page.
