Are media groups killing their own business?
Not a day passes when big media isn't whining about the piracy of their work. But what they're really upset about seems to be complete control. And I mean complete control. Not even original artists have the right to assert authority over the big media, which should be wrong. In the screen shot above you can see I was blocked from watching a video on Youtube by order of WMG, Warner Media Group.
Now I can understand if the person/channel was not the original artist AND that the media in question was being posted in its entirety, but in this case the video in question was part of the ORIGINAL ARTIST's channel.
So how do I feel about WMG now? I certainly don't feel like going out and buying any music published under the umbrella of WMG. Why would I want to buy something produced by a company that's so restrictive?
Of course Warner Music Group "owns" the music of hundreds of great artists, ones like the Bee Gees. So instead of buying the latest album I'll wait for the Walmart special. (Kind of like feeding one big mogul by biting off the hand of the other mogul).
